The University of Rochester is an accredited institution of higher learning located on the Genesee River in Rochester, New York. We offer 75 academic programs that encompass six colleges that comprise the University of Rochester, as well as the intellectual excitement of a major research university and the intimacy and opportunities of a liberal arts college. The University of Rochester seeks to support the Universities pursuit of excellence by providing each student the opportunity to participate and compete in athletics and be responsive and responsible citizens. Swimming and Diving as one of 21 varsity sports that U of R offers. The YellowJackets compete as a member of the University Athletic Association (UAA) conference, one of the NCAA’s most competitive swimming and diving Division III conferences. Institutional members of the UAA believe that the success of student athletes is the commitment to the enhancement of academics and athletics alike.
Last year the YellowJackets excelled both in the classroom and in the pool. The swimming and diving teams were recognized by the College Swim Coaches Association of America for their academic efforts, with both the men’s and women’s team maintaining a team GPA over the associations standard of 3.0. In the pool, the teams finished up the season strong at the UAA championship meet, with seven athletes competing at the NCAA Championship meet. This impressive year paves the way to a successful future for YellowJacket swimming and diving.
